Wedding DJ in Narragansett
I am John. I run Elation Entertainment on my own out of Shirley, Massachusetts, as both the DJ and the MC. Narragansett and South County are inside my standard service area, so there is no travel fee. Ceremony sound, reception, uplighting, photo booth, and an audio guestbook, in open rooms and on open lawns.
Professional Wedding Entertainment in Narragansett and South County
The Towers is the piece everybody knows: the stone arch left from the old Narragansett Pier casino, standing on the seawall with the surf directly behind it. That tells you what weddings here are. Rooms with open sides, a beach club with the water on one edge, an open air pavilion at a farm, and a vineyard estate a few minutes inland. Summer is the season and the town is busy through it, which shapes the timeline more than anything else. Sunset gets used as a marker in these rooms, because it is visible from most of them and the light does the work no lighting rig can.
Getting to Narragansett from Shirley
Narragansett is about 96 miles from Shirley, roughly an hour and forty five, I-495 south to I-95 south and then Route 4 down to Route 1. Beach traffic on Route 1 is the summer variable, and it is worst in the middle of a July afternoon, which is exactly when I am heading down. The setup starts 2.5 to 3 hours ahead of the first guest. In an open sided room that time goes into placement: finding where the speakers can stand, where cable can run safely across an open floor, and where the wind is coming from.
Narragansett is part of my Rhode Island page, and of Rhode Island.

Wedding DJ Questions for Narragansett Couples
Is South County inside the area you cover?
Yes, and there is no travel fee. Narragansett is about 96 miles from Shirley, inside my standard service area, and so are the towns around it, Wakefield, South Kingstown, and Point Judith among them. Nothing is added to the package for the drive down Route 1, and nothing changes if the venue turns out to be a few minutes further along the shore.
How does an open air pavilion change the sound?
Open sides let bass escape and let wind move the top end around, so a system aimed the way it would be in a ballroom will feel thin at the far tables. I bring the speakers in tighter to the floor and add fill rather than volume. The floor still hits. It just gets there by coverage instead of by pushing a bigger sound into open air.
Can you run a ceremony out by the seawall or on the beach?
Yes. The ceremony gets a separate system of its own, plus a wireless microphone for whoever is speaking. Surf is a constant low noise that does not stop for vows, so the speakers go close to the seats and stay modest. Placement is not final until soundcheck, because the wind at four in the afternoon is rarely the wind at noon.
What time do you get to a Narragansett venue in July?
Early. The drive is roughly an hour and forty five, and Route 1 on a July Saturday can add to that without warning, so I treat the posted time as a floor. I am on site 2.5 to 3 hours before guests, which at a beach club or a pavilion is not padding. Carrying gear across sand or a boardwalk simply takes longer than a loading dock.
