How a Private Celebration Differs From a Wedding
Most of what makes a wedding work carries straight over. A few things change, and it helps to know them before we talk.

The Nights I Play
Milestone birthdays and anniversaries
A 40th, a 50th, a 25th anniversary. The set usually spans the decades the guest of honor lived through, and the requests come in all night. I build it so the parents and the kids table both stay on the floor.
Corporate and holiday parties
A mixed room, a volume that still lets people talk, then the floor when the room asks for it. Clean announcements for a welcome or an awards moment. Full liability insurance, with a certificate available for the venue on request.
Mitzvahs and sweet sixteens
Clean edits and current music. No cheesy routines, no shouting into the mic. I keep the energy up, and the adults get their songs too.
School dances, reunions, and the rest
Proms, semi-formals, reunions, retirement and graduation parties. If there is a room and people who want to dance, it fits.

Questions That Come Up First
Do you perform at events other than weddings?
Yes. I perform at private celebrations, corporate events, and other functions where you want a polished DJ. Weddings are the primary focus, but the experience translates.
When do you arrive?
For weddings: 2.5 to 3 hours before guest arrival to set up sound, lighting, and run full soundchecks. For private events: 1 to 1.5 hours early.
Do you take breaks during the reception?
I don't take noticeable breaks during the event. Music continues seamlessly. The flow stays consistent. The focus stays on your celebration, not on logistics.
What's your backup plan if equipment fails?
I bring backup equipment for every critical component: multiple laptops, multiple speakers, multiple microphones. In 20 years I've never missed an event due to equipment failure. Most couples never notice the safeguards in place, and that's exactly how it should be.
Do you have a backup DJ?
I'm a one-person operation. If something genuinely prevents me from performing on your day, I maintain a strong network and have relationships with other high-quality DJs in the area and would make sure a strong replacement is in place for you.
