A greenhouse, a restored barn, or a flower farm gives you glass, wood, or open sky, and none of those three behave the same once the music starts.
Getting to Scarborough from Shirley
Scarborough is about 115 miles from Shirley, roughly two hours and five, I-95 north and then Route 1. That puts it near the outer edge of what I cover without a travel fee, and I leave accordingly. Once off the highway the venues scatter: some are minutes from Route 1, others are down a farm road with a gate and a field to cross. Guests see none of that, because I arrive two and a half to three hours ahead of them. It does not. About 115 miles and two hours and five by I-95 and Route 1 keeps Scarborough inside the standard area, so the package reads the same as it would for a wedding an hour from home. What the distance does change is my departure time, which I set with summer traffic on I-95 already accounted for.
How do you set up sound inside a glass greenhouse?
Carefully, and with more speakers at lower volume. Glass returns almost everything that hits it, so pushing level just makes the room louder without making anything clearer. Several smaller positions close to the guests beat two big ones at the front. Toasts get checked in the empty room first, because speech is what a hard reflective space damages before anybody notices the music.
What do you need to know before a wedding on a Scarborough farm?
Power and access, in that order. A farm rarely has an outlet where the dance floor ends up, so I want to know the source, the distance, and what else is drawing from it. After that comes the route in: gate width, field conditions, and where a loaded van can actually stop. Those two answers before the date turn a farm setup into an ordinary afternoon.
Can you cover a ceremony out on Prouts Neck and the reception indoors?
Yes, and they are two separate systems. The ceremony gets its own speakers and wireless microphones for your officiant and readers, placed where the seats are rather than aimed across open ground. Ocean air and wind thin a voice quickly out on a headland. The indoor room is set and tested earlier in the afternoon, so moving from one to the other is just walking.
