Mystic weddings are village weddings with a working waterfront attached. Guests take rooms in the village, walk to dinner, and the drawbridge goes up over the river all summer long. The rooms run from a museum campus with historic ships and riverfront lawns, to a hilltop inn above the harbor with gardens and a tented lawn, to hotel ballrooms across in Groton for a bigger list. Ceremonies here are usually outside and near water. The reception is usually somewhere else on the property. The gap between those two places is where most of the planning goes.

I-95 along the shore and the Mystic drawbridge on a summer weekend are the variables, so I leave with room. On the museum's rules, not mine. A campus like that sets its own vehicle route, its own hours, and its own limits on where gear can go, so I read all of it before the date and confirm the window with your coordinator. Everything lands inside the slot given.
Does the Mystic drawbridge affect your arrival?
It affects when I leave. The bridge opens on a schedule through the summer and the village backs up behind it, so that goes into the departure time along with I-95. The arrival window itself does not move: 2.5 to 3 hours before your guests.
Can you cover a ceremony and reception at different venues?
Yes, and around Mystic it is common. I take one event per day, so the whole day belongs to your wedding. That usually means an early setup at the reception site, sound of its own at the ceremony, and real time built in for the move between them.
