Wedding DJ in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire
I am John of Elation Entertainment, a wedding DJ and MC based in Shirley, Massachusetts. The Lakes Region is inside my standard service area, with no travel fee for the drive north. Ceremony sound, reception, uplighting, photo booth, and an audio guestbook, from Laconia to Moultonborough.
Professional Wedding Entertainment in the Lakes Region
A Lakes Region wedding usually happens outside, with Winnipesaukee somewhere in the frame. Vows on a waterfront lawn in Wolfeboro, a mountaintop lawn in Moultonborough with the lake below, a private beach in Laconia. The ceremony sites are open and often some distance from the room where dinner happens, and that room might be a resort ballroom or a restored barn with nothing soft in it. Almost everyone on the guest list is coming from somewhere else that day, and so is the DJ. The plan has to account for the distance at both ends.
Getting to the Lakes Region from Shirley
Laconia is about 85 miles from Shirley, an hour and 45 on Route 3, I-93 and Route 3 again. Wolfeboro is about 95 miles and two hours, Moultonborough about 105 miles and two hours 15, near the edge of the radius. The last stretch past the highway is lake roads, slower on a summer weekend. Arrival is still 2.5 to 3 hours before guests, so the departure from Shirley is early and the drive is planned as part of the setup.

Wedding DJ Questions for Lakes Region Couples
Is the Lakes Region far enough to add travel fees?
No. Laconia is about 85 miles from Shirley, Wolfeboro about 95, and Moultonborough about 105, all inside the 120 mile service area. The drive is longer than most and the package does not change for it. Nothing is added for the miles.
How do you handle a ceremony at the water's edge?
The waterfront site gets its own system, set up before guests walk down, with wireless microphones for your officiant and your readers. Open water and open lawn give a voice nothing to bounce off, so the speakers sit near the seats and the levels stay conversational.
How do you plan around a two hour drive?
By leaving early enough that the drive is never the variable. Wolfeboro is about two hours from Shirley and Moultonborough two hours 15, on top of the 2.5 to 3 hours I want on site before guests. One event per day means no schedule behind yours.
What does a restored barn ask for acoustically?
Restraint. A barn is tall, wooden and reflective, and a system pushed hard in one just returns to the room as noise. The answer is more speakers at lower levels, aimed at the floor rather than the beams, so speeches stay clear and the dancing still lands.
