Wedding DJ in New London
I am John. I run Elation Entertainment on my own out of Shirley, Massachusetts, as both the DJ and the MC. New London, New Hampshire, near Lake Sunapee, sits inside my standard service area, so there is no travel fee. The work covers ceremony sound, the reception, uplighting, a photo booth, and an audio guestbook.
Professional Wedding Entertainment in New London and the Lake Sunapee area
This is the New Hampshire New London, up in the hills west of I-93 near Lake Sunapee, not the one on the Connecticut coast. It is a small college town with one long Main Street, a lake a few minutes down the road, and ski country close enough to fill the calendar in winter. Weddings here run intimate. The rooms are inn dining rooms, a clubhouse, gardens and lawns, and a historical society property with a meeting house and a barn. Nobody is throwing a four hundred person reception in New London. The whole town points the other way, and couples pick it for exactly that.
Getting to New London from Shirley
New London is about 86 miles from Shirley, roughly an hour and fifty, I-93 north and then I-89 north into the hills. It is nearly all highway, which makes it one of the more predictable long drives I make. Winter is the exception, and a January date gets a much earlier departure. I get there 2.5 to 3 hours before guests do. At an inn or a small historic property that window is mostly about placement: finding the spot where the system covers the room without standing in the middle of it, then checking the ceremony site before anyone is in the building.
New London files straight under my New Hampshire page. No region page covers this corner of the state, so this one stands on its own.

Wedding DJ Questions for New London Couples
Is this the New London in New Hampshire, and do you serve it?
Yes on both. The New London I work is the New Hampshire one near Lake Sunapee, not the Connecticut city on the coast. It is about 86 miles from Shirley and an hour and fifty on I-93 and I-89, inside my standard service area. No travel fee, and no difference in how the night is planned because it happens to be up in the hills.
How do you keep a smaller guest count from feeling flat?
Smaller crowds do not need less attention, they need a different read. With sixty people there is no anonymous middle of the room, so the announcements are shorter, the transitions are cleaner, and the music moves when the room moves rather than on a schedule. I am watching faces instead of counting a floor. It is the format where being the only DJ on the job shows most.
Can you cover a ceremony on a lawn and dinner inside at a New London inn?
Yes. The lawn or garden site gets a system of its own with wireless microphones for your officiant and your readers, standing and checked well before guests walk out. Dinner inside gets a second setup. Nothing crosses the property mid event, which matters at an inn where the walk between the two is short and the doorways were built in another century.
What does a winter date near Lake Sunapee change?
The drive, mostly. I-89 through the hills is a different road in February than in September, so a winter departure from Shirley is earlier by a wide margin and I watch the forecast from the week out. On site nothing changes: same arrival window, same setup, same soundcheck. Guests arrive in layers, and the first hour of a winter reception runs slower because of it, which is worth building into the timeline.
