Cathedral of the Pines puts a ceremony outdoors under the trees with the mountain behind it, on ground that was built to be open air and nothing else. The Woodbound Inn sits on a lake with cabins around it. There is a camp property here too, which means some Rindge weddings are actually weekends: people arrive Friday, sleep on site, and the reception is one night inside something longer. It is rural, it is quiet, and almost everything worth doing here happens outside a building.
Getting to Rindge from Shirley
Rindge is about 31 miles from Shirley, roughly forty five minutes, Route 119 west and then Route 202 north. No highway, no tolls, and no real traffic outside of leaf season. It is one of the shortest drives I make to a wedding, which means the arrival time is entirely mine to control. I still take the full 2.5 to 3 hours on site before guests. At an outdoor ceremony site that window covers running power out to where the seats are, setting the system, and walking the site once with the officiant so nobody is finding a microphone at the last minute.

Under trees, on open ground, the goal is that the back row never leans forward.
What happens if it rains on a Rindge wedding day?
The plan already has a second version, decided the week of and confirmed the morning of. I keep the outdoor setup light enough to relocate inside the window set in advance, and I do not start a build I cannot undo in time. Rain does not usually cancel anything here.
